FOUNDATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF CHILDREN’S ESTHETICS  [FACE]

WHAT WE DO

  • Volunteer Surgery Teams

  • Partnership with Medical Charities

  • Educational and Outreach Programs

  • FACE Medical Fellowships

Acting in concert with volunteers and medical colleagues in Florida, the FACE Team of doctors provides free reconstructive surgery for underprivileged children who suffer physically or emotionally from a facial traumas or disfigurement as well as oral maxillofacial deformities or injury.

Many needy children throughout Florida and neighboring regions lack access to the vital resource of expert reconstructive plastic surgeons and dental specialists who can offer them a healthier and more rewarding future.

Children with dog bites, injuries from auto accidents, congenital deformities, and other impediments confront social challenges, limited functional mobility and physical pain due to their appearance and conditions.

The FACE team of doctors and medical professionals provides these children with the benefits of exceptional reconstructive surgical care that makes a decisive difference in their lives.

FACE TEAM PROGRAMS INCLUDE:

  • Conducting facial surgery and dental procedures at no cost to children at our surgical suites in Jacksonville and Tampa Florida.

  • Partnerships with surgeons, other medical professionals in Florida to expand FACE initiatives regarding surgical procedures, training and public education.

  • Sponsoring Fellowship Programs to provide advanced training in specialized skills for medical professionals.   In conjunction with Syracuse University, FACE team leaders, Drs. Phillip and Roberto Garcia administer fellowships for medical students to introduce them to advanced facial plastic surgery techniques and encourage their participation in FACE programs.

  • Hosting educational workshops for community organizations to promote child safety (most notably dog bite prevention) and to increase public awareness about FACE Team surgical procedures to help underprivileged children.

  • Liaison with other medical groups operating in Florida and the Caribbean region to help perform surgeries on local children and assist in medical skills transfer.

  • Utilizing technology in innovative ways to allow FACE doctors, volunteers and fellowship trainees to exchange medical information.
